Worcestershire man's life-saving hospital treatment. It comes after the ill beneficiary and ex-Jaguar Land Rover worker cruelly suffered a string of family disasters over the last year. James Monks is looking after his grandmother who is in the advanced stages of dementia, his dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and his mum is currently battling breast cancer.
His pals believe this stress and a wakeboarding crash last summer was the “perfect storm” to trigger the dormant Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in his system. The 29-year-old, from Evesham, had been perfectly healthy and active until last August, but he now requires stem cell therapy which is not currently available to him on the NHS. A GoFundMe page was set up aimed at raising £50,000 for treatment in Mexico City.

It includes kind reality star Georgia Toffolo, 27, known as "Toff", who donated £3,000 to the cause. James is in discussions with doctors at the Mexico clinic and could receive four-weeks of treatment from the end of July.
James' pal Alistair Taylor, from Sutton Coldfield, created the crowdfunder and was blown away by the outpouring of love and generosity. Explaining his old school friend's state, he said: "We are fortunate that the NHS diagnosed James’ condition within the first 12 months, significantly improving his odds of fighting the disease head-on. "The most superior course of action for MS is Stem Cell Therapy, a radical procedure which works by wiping out his immune system through chemotherapy and rebuilding it via stem cell transplant.
