Love Island season eight only started on Monday, but there’s already been a big shakeup for the couples, after new arrival, ‘Italian stallion’ Davide, chose to couple up with Gemma Owen, leaving her former partner Liam single and vulnerable. A new Love Island spoiler sees Michael Owen’s daughter, Gemma, happy to be coupled up with Davide, who she set her sights on since his arrival to the villa, although it would seem that she is still keeping her options open. Speaking in the Beach Hut, Gemma, 19, says of her new coupling: “Me and Davide are now a couple which I’m quite excited about.
I’m really happy and I’m really looking forward to getting to know him a bit more and seeing where it goes.” Davide, 27, seems happy with his choice too, and he says in the Beach Hut: “I feel really happy with how things have been tonight. I’m now in a couple with Gemma and I’m really happy that she actually felt the same as me. I feel like there is something good between us.” Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter .

Although Gemma is clearly thrilled with her new arrangement with Davide, who viewers will see her go on a date with tonight, she still appears to care about 23 year old Welsh student, Liam. She takes the time to speak with him at the fire pit to see how he was taking the new turn of events, which have left him in a vulnerable position.
Speaking at the fire pit with Gemma, Liam puts on a positive head and says: “Tomorrow is a new day - I’ve got work to do!” Seemingly trying to placate him, Gemma says: “Me being in a couple with him hasn’t changed how I feel about you. I still want to chat to you. It’s still early days.
