Love Island’s Martin Akinola apologised to Shaq Muhammad on Sunday for sexual comments he made following his stint in the South African villa. This year’s Love Island saw Shaq and Tanya Manhenga hit it off from the very first episode, with them seemingly becoming the strongest couple from day one. But disaster struck after a few weeks when Tanya compared Shaq to a previous boyfriend and then swanned off to Casa Amor, where she grew close to Martin. Upon returning with Martin on her arm, Shaq was understandably heartbroken by Tanya’s actions but soon got back together when her relationship with Martin fizzled out.
During Sunday’s reunion episode, hosted by Maya Jama, Shaq confronted his fellow Love Islander over comments he made on the Speaking on Reality podcast with Will Njobvu. Shaq scathed: “I think for me, I want to I want to know why you (Martin) came out of the show and started talking on podcasts saying you would sleep with Tanya in ways you can't imagine. “Because one - that did not happen and two if that's how you choose to speak about women, that's up to you.
But it's disgusting.” “Okay, fair enough. That's fair enough. But if you watch the podcast you'd know that's not what happened,” Martin hit back. “But, but what I will say is, I didn't expect you to, you know, say that's what happened or whatever.” He added: “But I will say, yeah I crossed the line there.
