Lorraine Kelly was left red-faced this morning as Ben Shepherd quizzed her about a newspaper story about her husband Steve's saucy texts.
During the Good Morning Britain handover with Lorraine to see what was coming up on her show, Susanna Reid and Ben joined up with the Scots star via video link when Ben asked her to tell them more.
He said: "It would appear he’s very generous with his affections while you’re on air. He often likes to say how wonderful you’re looking in the morning in an affectionate way.”
Lorraine giggled: “It depends what I'm wearing. It depends how much I'm showing.”
She added: “Sometimes he does say ‘Nice boobs!'"
Then she changed the subject, saying: “How did they get hold of that? Where did that come from? Have I been talking too much again?”
Ben's co-host Susanna Reid laughed: “As we’re coming up to Valentine’s Day, how lovely. Your husband still texts you to say ‘Nice boobs’.”
Ben added: “Next time Lorraine’s on her show and she looks down at her phone, it could be Steve sending a little message.”
Pointing to her button up midi dress she wore on today's show, the 63-year-old pointed to it and said: “This dress isn’t going to get any comments from him this morning though, Ben.”
Ben smiled: “I’m sure he will send you something lovely regardless."
Susanna added: “You always look fab Lorraine. There are lots of serious issues, so it’s nice to have a moment of joy.”
Lorraine and Steve married in 1992 and last year celebrated their 30-year anniversary with a big surprise bash courtesy of their daughter Rosie.
Lorraine met Steve while she was a reporter and he was a cameraman on TV-am.
