Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes the time might have come for Harry Kane to leave Tottenham Hotspur amid Manchester United's interest in his signature.
Kane, 29, cemented his place in England history on Thursday night, becoming the nation's all-time leading goalscorer, netting a first-half penalty in the Three Lions' 2-1 win over Italy in Naples. After Declan Rice had earlier given Gareth Southgate's side the lead, Kane doubled their advantage shortly before the half-time interval from the spot.
It marked his first opportunity to score a penalty in an England shirt since missing from the spot against France in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar, but he made no mistake on this occasion to net his 54th and record-breaking goal in England colours, surpassing former United man Wayne Rooney's tally of 53 in the process.

Gerrard, speaking on Channel 4, said: "It's an incredible penalty, it's precise and takes the side-netting off. He's one of the best penalty-takers in the world, that's why it was such a surprise what happened to him in the World Cup.
