Alison Hammond recently received a marriage proposal at an airport, her flying companion Kate Garraway has revealed. Kate, 55, revealed a hilarious travel moment that happened when she was travelling with fellow TV presenter Alison, which ended in a marriage proposal from a stranger. Speaking to I'm a Celebrity...
Get Me Out of Here! winner Giovanna Fletcher on the Journey to the Magic podcast, Kate recalled the story of how Alison was proposed to by a stranger at the airport – after only being there for 15 minutes. She told Giovanna: "I literally went to the loo, bought a cup of tea and came back and this guy had proposed. It was unbelievable.
"I was just like "what the heck". He just sat down and he proposed to her," she continued. "It was extraordinary.
She was just like 'yeah' and he proposed - really casual about it. I was like 'this is big stuff'." However, she said that she did not think that Alison had seen the man since the proposal. OK! has contacted Alison's representative for comment.
It comes after Alison's future father-in-law claimed she'd gotten engaged to her secret boyfriend Ben Hawkins after two years of dating. However, speaking on This Morning last month, Alison awkwardly revealed that she was not engaged after her co-star Dermot O'Leary opened the show to the sounds of wedding bells and exclaimed: "I hear a congratulations are in order, someone is getting married." Alison laughed: "Cut the music! I'm not engaged, I'm so sorry I'm not engaged! "I told you, if I was ever to get engaged or get married I would be the first person to tell you! I'd put all over Instagram and TikTok!" She continued: "Sorry, it's fake news! I'm not getting married. One day it might happen, but sorry babes but it's fake
