But with Cormack taking over from Stewart Milne, it was a new era at the club. And it hasn't gone to plan with two appointments that haven't worked out.
The Red Army were left in a rage after their humiliating Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Darvel, with Cormack present to witness the disaster in Ayrshire. And although Goodwin was given a reprieve, the result to Hibs proved the final straw.
Now the America-based software tycoon has to find the right man to get the club back on track.
