Jack Whitehall couldn’t resist a cheeky joke about Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s rumoured fallout. The This Morning duo are said to have not been speaking off camera for a while now, with sources claiming their friendship has ‘dwindled. ’As a result, the ITV daytime show has been thrown into chaos, with rumours swirling of Phil calling in his lawyers, Holly contemplating quitting, and the pair taking a break from the show completely.
Basically, it’s been all anyone has talked about for the last two weeks, and funny man Jack was keen to make light of all the drama. Appearing on The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show alongside his father, Michael Whitehall, the comic, 34, was praised by Rosie for how well they get on, given that Michael, 83, often joins his son for TV appearances. ‘You guys come across like you’ve got a lovely relationship,’ she told them.
Unable to simply take the compliment without a savage quip, Jack replied: ‘Behind closed doors it’s like Holly and Phil, we don’t speak to each other. ’The audience let out a collective gasp – oh yes, he went there!‘What? Oh, come on!’, Jack exclaimed, with the crowd later erupting into applause. Hosts Chris and Rosie clearly weren’t expecting the dig, as their expressions were ones of complete shock.
The married couple were then very quick to move the conversation on…Elsewhere in the show, Chris and Rosie congratulated Jack on his recent announcement. Earlier this month, the Bad Education actor announced that he and girlfriend Roxy Horner, 31, are expecting their first child together. Jack has now shared that the model is actually six months along in her pregnancy, meaning there really isn’t long to go until their little one is here.
