Jack Whitehall has revealed his girlfriend Roxy Horner was resuscitated by medics after collapsing at the 2021 BRIT Awards. The comedian, 34, who hosted the annual awards bash in 2021, recalled how Roxy, 32, unknowingly suffered a diabetic hypo at the BRITs and fainted, which later led to her being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Jack explained: "She had something called a diabetic hypo and she fainted.
Paramedics were trying to resuscitate her and her sugar levels were spiking dangerously." He told The Sun how Roxy was rushed to A&E at the awards ceremony, and eventually told she had Type 1 diabetes after feeling "tired and exhausted all the time”. Roxy, who is a model, admitted she felt like she was "dying" prior to her diagnosis in May 2021, as she had "no energy". She has since gone on to raise awareness about diabetes, sharing informative videos on her social media channels to educate others.
The 32 year old explained how Jack has been her "absolute rock" following her diagnosis, and praised him for being by her side when she was told she has diabetes. "My parents and my family live in Australia, so he has been my family," the model gushed, before saying she and Jack are "amazing". Last year, Roxy spoke to OK! about how her life has changed since this diagnosis.
She told us: "It’s been bittersweet because on one hand I was relieved that I found my diagnosis so that I could finally treat it and start to feel better again but on the other hand it is something that I have to think about every day now.
