Emmerdale fans were flocking to social media to praise the soap after it aired the tear-jerking wedding between Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk. The big day had been a long time coming for the couple and was almost off altogether when Marlon was admitted to the hospital with high blood pressure.
The chef, who suffered a devastating stroke earlier this year, collapsed at home following an impromptu stag do with best friend Paddy Kirk, Cain Dingle, Sam Dingle, Nate Robinson, and Billy Fletcher. Paddy rushed him off to the hospital where he was kept in until his blood pressure lowered.
As Paddy tried to keep Marlon calm, they both become equally stressed out, getting them nowhere fast. Meanwhile, Chas Dingle informed Vanessa Woodfield of what was going on and she set about trying to stalling the wife-to-be. Unaware, Rhona eventually made her way to the church and soon cottoned on that something isn't right.

But with the support of Paddy, Marlon made it to the church just in time with viewers watching as Paddy whizzed a determined Marlon in his pimped-up wedding wheelchair through the village; both dressed in their wedding suits, before bursting through the door of the church and wheeling Marlon in.
The much-loved character, played by Mark Charnock, then left his bride, family and fans of the ITV soap in bits as he gets up out of his wheelchair and walked down the aisle before exchanging their vows and finally becoming husband and wife. It was then off to The Woolpack for the reception where the emotional scenes continued with speeches and a mother-son dance between Cain and Faith Dingle.
