Since stepping foot in the Love Island villa as a Casa Amor bombshell, Martin Akinola hasn’t been afraid of stepping on people’s toes or causing drama as he attempts to find a romantic connection. Despite only being in the villa for one week, the 27 year old has already caused quite the stir after kissing Islander Tanya Manhenga's despite her being in a couple with Shaq Muhammad.
But while the kiss may have put him in some people’s bad books inside the villa, the TV personality was branded “iconic” by viewers thanks to his antics during Shaq and Tanya’s almighty Movie Night row. As Shaq confronted Tanya about how she forged a connection in Casa Amor with the newbie despite being coupled up, Martin could be seen providing light entertainment during their tense discussion.
“Every time the camera is on Martin I'm howling,” wrote one Twitter user. “Martin’s reaction to the Tanya and Shaq drama is ICONIC hahaha #loveisland,” another added.
Away from the show, Martin works as a software engineer in Dublin though is known for sharing his extremely trendy outfits on social media where he has nearly 11,000 followers on Instagram. While Love Island viewers may be familiar with Martin sporting swimming trunks and sunglasses, away from the hit ITV2 show he is more at home in oversized shirts, designer trainers and swanky trousers.
Clearly a fan of travel, Martin is no stranger to documenting his trips online and has plenty of snaps from his lavish sun-soaked holidays to locations including Paris and Lagos. The TV star even has several Instagram highlights dedicated to his jetsetting adventures. It appears that Martin’s connection to Love Island predates his time on the show as the Casa Amor bombshell is friends with former contestant
