It was the first time a soap drama had ever tackled this subject before and Hollyoaks received huge praise for how they handled the topic. Luke eventually got his justice as he opened up to his brother and Mark was sent to prison for eight years. After the traumatic event, Luke decided to move to Canada but returned to the village in 2002 for his parent’s remarriage, and again in 2017.
In 2017, Luke returned to the show with Mandy (played by Sarah Jayne Dunn) and later took on a difficult task of repairing his relationship with his estranged son, Ollie. Luke struggled with his alcoholism, while Ollie was facing his own traumatic and difficult time as he was being groomed by his football coach, Buster. Become an OK!
