Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were "destroyed on their own turf" after comedian Chris Rock made jokes about the couple accusing the Royal Family of racism, according to a royal expert. Chris, 58, hosted his own stand-up special, Selective Outrage, live on Netflix on Saturday and during his set he spoke about the interview Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, took part in with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
In the explosive interview, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told Oprah, 69, that while they were at Buckingham Palace, an unnamed member of the Royal Family had voiced "concerns" about "how dark" their baby's skin colour would be. Chris repeatedly mocked Meghan during his stand-up show, saying her racism claims were just "some in-law sh**", and also said: "That’s not racist, because even Black people want to know how brown the baby going to be." Royal expert Kinsey Schofield has now shared her thoughts on Chris's comments, and how she thinks Meghan and Harry may be feeling.
She told Sky News Australia: "This happened on their own turf. Netflix paid Harry and Meghan hundreds of thousands of dollars to create content for them and Chris Rock goes on their own platform and destroys them.
"They are feeling the burn right now," Kinsey added. The expert went on to claim the couple have put certain people "in a terrible position", most notably Gayle King, who defended Meghan and Harry on TV following their Oprah interview.
