Godzilla and the Titans Live-Action Apple Series Casts Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell

Joe Otterson TV ReporterApple has ordered the limited dramedy series “Land of Women” with Eva Longoria and Carmen Maura set to star.The six-episode series is based on the Sandra Barneda novel of the same name. Longoria will star as Gala, a New York empty nester whose life is turned upside down when her husband implicates the family in financial improprieties, and she is forced to flee the city alongside her aging mother (Maura) and college-age daughter.To escape the dangerous criminals to whom Gala’s now vanished husband is indebted, the three women hide in the same charming wine town in Northern Spain that Gala’s mother fled 50 years ago, vowing never to return.

Pac-Man is getting a solo live-action movie!

In this age of IP-dominated cinema, there are plenty of announcements that seem obvious on the surface. Another superhero film being made? Sure, that makes sense.

Wayfarer Studios and Bandai Namco Entertainment have partnered to develop a live-action Pac-Man film based on the classic arcade game franchise, Deadline can confirm.

Victoria Pedretti has signed with CAA for representation.

“Sexy Beast” is a film that critically acclaimed (and Oscar-nominated) when it was released in 2000, but it doesn’t seem to be brought up much when talking about some of the best films of that era. Well, Paramount+ is hoping you haven’t forgotten the film, as the network has found the cast that will lead the prequel series that the streamer is working on now.

Right from the start, you know exactly what you are in for with Bullet Train, a non-stop mix of violence, comedy, and more violence, Japanese-style, as filtered through the lens of director David Leitch, a stuntman turned filmmaker whose past credits of Atomic Blonde, Fast & Furious: Hobbs And Shaw, and Deadpool 2 pretty much prepare you for what to expect here. However, even though this was mostly shot on the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City, with some killer production design and a cool train courtesy of David Scheunemann, it undoubtedly feels we are in Tokyo where I am sure the Sony bosses were delighted with the dailies as they came in. Unfortunately, from my vantage point this just seems like a lark for star Brad Pitt, coming off an Oscar for the far superior Quentin Tarantino masterpiece, also from Sony, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and the underrated Ad Astra, both pre-pandemic in 2019. His most notable appearance since has been in a comedic supporting role in The Lost City with Sandra Bullock who returns the favor here in a mostly voiceover role as his “handler,” therapist, self help guide, guru – whatever you want to call her – who is constantly guiding him through the messes he gets himself into.

Love Island chiefs will “sit down and review” the show after it ends on Monday.

Joe Otterson TV ReporterPedro Pascal and David Harbour at set to star together in the limited series “My Dentist’s Murder Trial” currently in development at HBO, Variety has learned.The series is inspired by the James Lasdun New Yorker article “My Dentist’s Murder Trial: Adultery, False Identities, and a Lethal Sedation.” The article told the true story of how Dr. Gilberto Nunez was indicted for the death of his friend, Thomas Kolman.Both Pascal and Harbour will executive produce in addition to starring.

Charlie Cox’s iteration of Daredevil is getting a second life via Daredevil: Born Again—a new series coming to Disney+ with an 18-episode first season in 2024. Joining Cox on the show is Vincent D’Onofrio, who reprises his role from recent Marvel series as mob boss Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.

Kurt and Wyatt Russell are set to share the screen! The father-son duo have signed on to join the cast of an upcoming Apple Original series based on Legendary's Monsterverse franchise and set in the wake of an epic San Francisco showdown between Godzilla and the Titans, as depicted in the 2014 film. Directed by Matthew Shakman, the as-yet-untitled series will explore one family's journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch, according to a release from the streamer. The pair's roles have yet to be revealed, but they join a cast that includes Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski.The casting marks the first time that Kurt and Wyatt have acted together in the same project since 1998's, in which Wyatt played a young version of his dad's character. Wyatt, 36, recently became a father himself, welcoming son Buddy with wife Meredith Hagner in March 2021.«It's incredible,»he told ET of fatherhood at the time. «It's everything you didn't know it was going to be.
