Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid shut down an interview with Prince Andrew's ex-girlfriend Lady Victoria Hervey after she claimed that Virginia Giuffre was a 'con-artist'.
The socialite appeared on GMB today to talk about her former partner Prince Andrew and said he is going to fight to clear his name after Ms Giuffre brought a civil case alleging Andrew had sex with her on three occasions in 2001, when she was 17.
Prince Andrew has always denied the allegations but settled a US civil sex abuse case with Ms Giuffre outside of court for a reported £12million. The settlement is not an admission of guilt by Andrew, who continues to deny any wrongdoing.
And today, Lady Victoria launched a full frontal attack on Prince Andrew’s sex abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre calling her a "liar" and a "con artist".
According to reports, Prince Andrew has amassed a £10million 'war chest' to launch a legal case against Ms Giuffre.
On the show today, Lady Victoria joined hosts Ben Shepherd and Susanna Reid as well as barrister Dr Charlotte Proudman to discuss whether charity work will redeem Prince Andrew’s reputation.
Things got extremely heated in the studio as Victoria said that some victims are 'liars'.
And after a few comments she made, Susanna said that the interview couldn't go any further due to the allegations she made.
Holding her hands up to silence her, Susanna said: "Lady Victoria Hervey, that's enough, I'm sorry to bring that to an end but you made some very serious allegations, but fact of the matter is, as our barrister here at the desk reminds everybody, there are convictions in this case and we're not going to take issue with those. Thank you very much indeed."
And fans of the show weren't happy about the comments she made
