Those passing by St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh tomorrow afternoon will no doubt notice a six-foot red box in front of the historic building.
It will be placed there by Virgin Hotels, to mark the grand opening of their new Victoria Street location. To celebrate the opening, those who use the Virgin Red rewards club will be able to pick up points that can be used on more than 200 experiences.
There is also set to be a Scottish celebration to be remembered, as well as a surprise that will be revealed at 5pm.
The giant six-foot mystery box is set to pop up at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh on Friday, March 24, from 4.30pm. According to the company, the points could win you a luxury four-night staycation at the newly opened hotel.
You could also use points to pick up flights through Virgin to locations all around the world.
Virgin Hotels has locations in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and promises a 'heartfelt service' and 'personalised hotel experience'
The Edinburgh hotel's description reads: "Virgin Hotels Edinburgh is reimagining the Old Town, marrying its iconic Victorian architecture with distinctive, contemporary design.
"Inside the hotel, you’ll experience a world that revolves around you – from our signature chamber design to numerous drinking, dining and entertainment options that you’ll never want to leave.

The couple have also vowed to donate funds to the new sanctuary named Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, in which the wildlife are now headed.“Big Cat Rescue has entered into an agreement with Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, an accredited sanctuary in Arkansas, to move most of Big Cat Rescue’s cats to Turpentine Creek where we will continue to fund their care for the rest of their lives,” read the statement.“[Once the cats are moved,] we will sell the sanctuary property and use the proceeds to fund these species-saving projects in the wild.”Baskin further explained the closure by referencing the Big Cat Public Safety Act, or BCPSA – a federal law signed last year that prohibits private ownership of big cats including lions, tigers, cougars, cheetahs, leopards or any hybrid breeds.According to the statement, it was the high costs of maintaining the enclosure that led the couple to sell.
