to top the iTunes charts with the release of its first album, “Aurora.” The band was brought to life by Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse and Sebastian Chacon for the self-titled Amazon Prime Video show, which was adapted from the book of the same name. “Daisy Jones & The Six” was written by Taylor Jenkins Reid and follows the rise and fall of a Fleetwood Mac-esque band as it gets mixed up in sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll in Los Angeles in the ’70s. The novel quickly became a #BookTok sensation — and popular beyond the social media app — after it was released in 2019.
It was immediately placed on Reese Witherspoon’s book club list and picked up by the actress’ production company, Hello Sunshine. “Aurora” topped the iTunes charts when it was released March 2 — a day before the series premiered the first three episodes. “We finally have Aurora.
A stunning, nostalgic, timeless album that captures the drama, pathos, and yearning of the band’s zenith and nadir all in one,” Reid said in a statement. “A snapshot of time, intoxicating and dangerous. That delicious moment that you know can’t last,” Reid continued.
“Daisy Jones and The Six are real. And they are better than my wildest dreams.”Of course, Daisy Jones and The Six isn’t the only chart-topping fake act out there. The Partridge Family — featuring Shirley Jones and her stepson, David Cassidy, and based on the ’70s sitcom about a family band — topped the Billboard Hot 100 with “I Think I Love You” in 1970.

may tell the story of a fictional band, but they're rubbing shoulders with some very real musical influences. The cast of Amazon's upcoming adaptation of the ultra-popular novel told ET's Nischelle Turner that Bob Dylan paid a visit to their recording studio. «It was insane,» Suki Waterhouse, who plays band member Karen, said of the experience. «He had a tour bus outside of Sound City.»Sound City is the iconic Los Angeles recording studio where the cast recorded the album on which the book focuses. Blake Mills, producer of the show's soundtrack, has also previously worked with Dylan. Author Taylor Jenkins Reid wrote many of 's lyrics for the book, but the show will now bring the fictional music to life. Camila Morrone, who plays Camila, wife of band leader Billy, added that the cast tried to stay focused on their own work despite being utterly starstruck. «When Bob Dylan's making music you just let him do his thing,» she said with a chuckle.«We tried to stay out of his way,» Waterhouse agreed.Though the Bob Dylan sighting may have been more a moment in passing, the cast certainly had their fair share of epic artistic run-ins while in production. Mills recruited a group of music legends to adapt Reid's and the finished project boasts co-writing credits from Marcus Mumford, Phoebe Bridgers and Jackson Browne.Tony Berg, a frequent collaborator of Bridgers, also provided additional support and the album features instrumental work from David Bowie, Elton John, Pearl Jam, Jeff Beck, Rilo Kiley, The Who, Nine Inch Nails and The Wallflowers. Riley Keough, granddaughter of Elvis Presley, plays Daisy Jones.
Daniel D'Addario Chief TV Critic There’s a thrilling moment a little before the halfway point of Amazon’s new limited series “Daisy Jones & the Six” in which two stars collide. The ethereal vocalist Daisy Jones (Riley Keough) has been invited to perform her collaboration with a rising rock band (no points for guessing their moniker), but crashes the stage a bit early and then refuses to leave after her one song has been performed. Daisy and the Six’s lead singer Billy (Sam Claflin) share the microphone for a while, if “share” is the word for what one does in a battle for territory; faces close together, they’re competing for real estate, competing for a claim on the song they sing, competing to be heard.
Riley Keough looked stunning at the Los Angeles premiere of her much anticipated series “Daisy Jones & The Six.” The actress, who’s the daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley and granddaughter of Elvis Presley, plays Daisy Jones, a free spirited singer that’s inspired on Stevie Nicks in her Fleetwood Mac era. Riley Keough shares a photo from the last time she saw her ‘beautiful mama’ Lisa Marie PresleyElvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough stars in a new TV showKeough wore a black outfit made out of two parts: a top with a plunging neckline, and a sequined skirt.
