Erling Haaland is on course to hit the 40-goal mark in the Premier League this season as his incredible scoring form continues.
The Manchester City hit his 28th goal of the campaign in the win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, in what was his 26th game of the season. Only Luis Suarez has a comparable record when he reached 28 goals from his first 26 games in the 2013-14 campaign.
The Uruguayan ended the campaign with 31 goals, equalling the previous record set by Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo, but Suarez was always playing catch up having missed the first five matches of the campaign season for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during the previous season.

Should Haaland avoid suspension and also remain injury-free, then the Norway international can set his sights set on the all-time Premier League record. Andrew Cole set the mark at 34 goals with Newcastle United in the 42-game 1993/94 season, and Alan Shearer matched the tally a year later while playing for Blackburn Rovers.
Haaland needs seven goals in his final nine games to break that figure and only five to overtake Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and break the 38-game goalscoring record of 32, set in the 2017/18 season.
If Haaland continues at his current pace he will reach 40 by the end of the season. The City striker has now scored eight more goals than anyone else this term, with Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane second having reached the 20-goal mark last weekend with a brace at home to Nottingham Forest.
