Erling Haaland wants Manchester City to continue to put pressure on opponents as they did in the astonishing 7-0 win over RB Leipzig on Tuesday.
It seemed like a tense affair was in store in a finely poised tie after the first leg finished one apiece but City blew their opponents away with a sensational display. Pep Guardiola's side set their stall out early as they pressed Leipzig with ferocious intensity, forcing them back and into committing errors.
The best example came just seconds after the restart following Haaland's opener from the penalty spot, as he charged down goalkeeper Janis Blaswich whose clearance went back to City. Kevin De Bruyne got possession, cracked the crossbar and then the Norwegian was on hand to head home the rebound.

Haaland would go on to score another three times in a remarkable performance as Ilkay Gundogan got in on the act before De Bruyne scored the pick of the bunch with a stunning strike in the dying moments. It was a performance of aggression and pressure from the Blues and Haaland wants to see it more often.
"We worked on the pressing yesterday and especially at home, in every game we have to put pressure, we have to run, we have to just put them under pressure," he told BT Sport. "Because we are so good at winning the ball, going forward with Kevin when he can get the ball in front of him towards the goal. Yeah, of course, it was part of the plan and my opinion we should do this more."
There has been a rolling debate this season over whether City are getting Haaland involved enough and though it has now been defunct there was previously credence to the idea as the Blues struggled at points earlier in 2023.
