Ed Sheeran wins another Thinking Out Loud’ copyright case

Ed Sheeran had a surprise for a group of high school band students!Last week, the 32-year-old GRAMMY-winning musician stopped by band practice for students of Blake High School and Middleton High School in Tampa, Florida. As the members of the high school marching band were practicing his hit, «Eyes Closed,» the singer walked in playing the guitar to their delight.After the students finished their performance — and let out a few screams — Sheeran informed them that he was gifting the music program guitars, and he would be providing them each with tickets to his sold-out concert at Raymond James Stadium.A post shared by Ed Sheeran (@teddysphotos)The students were also in for an additional treat as the singer performed a few songs, including «Perfect,» which got some students emotional.

All three musicians were listed as having wealth higher than £150 million after seeing success in both the UK and the US. Sheeran and Adele both claim spots in the top 10 of the under-35 list – Sheeran, 32, in seventh place with an estimated wealth of £300 million.

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran on Tuesday defeated a second copyright lawsuit in federal court in Manhattan over similarities between his hit “Thinking Out Loud” and Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On.”

Ed Sheeran has successfully defeated a lawsuit that accused him of ripping off Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get It On’ when he wrote his 2014 song ‘Thinking Out Loud’. And if you think we’re reporting on this two weeks too late you’re forgetting that there were multiple lawsuits making that claim.The first lawsuit to allege that ‘Thinking Out Loud’ infringed the copyright in ‘Let’s Get It On’ was the one filed by the estate of Ed Townsend, who co-wrote the Gaye classic.

After storming into Number 1 last week with the fastest-selling album of 2023 so far, Ed Sheeran isn’t going anywhere, with Subtract looking to spend a second week at the top of the Official Albums Chart.

He even mashed it up with other songs that are generally similar.

Ed Sheeran has denied claims that he refused to perform at King Charles III’s coronation concert at the weekend.The pop star was one of many musicians speculated to have declined an invitation for the Windsor Castle concert on Sunday (May 7). However, the ‘Shape Of You’ singer put the rumours to rest during a chat on SiriusXM (via Metro), and confirmed that he didn’t attend the show because he was never invited.“No one ever asked me (to perform),” he said, explaining where he was for the historic event, “I assume if they went online and went ‘What’s Ed doing on May 6’, they would go ‘Oh, he’s playing in Dallas’.
