The 32-year-old singer-songwriter joined Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 for an in-depth conversation about his new album, Subtract.
During the conversation, he candidly spoke on grief, depression, hope, and honesty, including the passing of his friend Jamal Edwards, his wife Cherry Seaborn‘s cancer diagnosis, fighting legal battles over song use and quitting drugs.

Ed Sheeran‘s album ‘Subtract’ has become the fastest-selling album of 2023, meaning it may mark a sixth consecutive Number One album for the singer-songwriter.According to the Official Charts Company, ‘Subtract’ has already collected over 56,000 chart units, which is more than any other album that was released this year. Lana Del Rey’s ‘Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.’ previously held the record with 41,000 chart units during its first week.The LP, produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams), is also set to claim the Number One spot in the Official Albums Chart.
Ed Sheeran is speaking out in his first interview since his copyright infringement victory. The English singer-songwriter was accused of copying music chords from Marvin Gaye's classic "Let's Get It On" in his 2014 hit song "Thinking Out Loud." Sheeran revealed what helped him win the jury over. "101 songs with the same chord sequence," he said during an appearance on "Good Morning America." "And that was just… scratching the surface," he pointed out.
