Shona, who earlier dazzled fans with a fresh, cropped haircut, has played Whitney Dean, the adoptive daughter of Patsy Palmer’s Bianca Jackson, since 2008. Whitney has been involved in countless central storylines since her first appearance, and most recently, she discovered her baby has Edwards’ Syndrome.
Shona, 31, took to social media on Monday, where she treated her Instagram followers to a behind-the-scenes look at her life, revealing that she is also part of a gospel choir called UpMass. Alongside a snap of her fellow singers, the soap star revealed there were “exciting times ahead” for the choir group. On her Instagram grid, Shona showed her 179k followers a video of herself and rest of the choir belting a Christian tune.

In a statement, the BBC said it has “received approaches from a number of organizations offering alternative funding models for the BBC Singers. We have agreed with the Musicians’ Union that we will suspend the proposal to close the BBC Singers, while we actively explore these options.
