On Saturday (March 18), the 76-year-old former president said that he expects he’s going to be arrested on Tuesday (March 17) and he’s telling his supporters to “protest” the action.

Echoing his message to supporters in the wake of the 2020 presidential election and the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, Trump wrote, “Protest, take our nation back.”
Trump has been under investigation for years now in the hush money scheme involving adult film star Stormy Daniels, who claimed in 2018 that she had an affair with the former president.
Shortly after sharing the statement, a spokesperson for Trump said that the former president wrote the post without any direct knowledge of the timing of any arrest.
“President Trump is rightfully highlighting his innocence and the weaponization of our injustice system,” Trump‘s spokesperson shared with The New York Times.
New York prosecutors have not made any official announcement about indicting or arresting Trump yet.
Back in December 2022, the January 6th committee announced that they recommend Trump be criminally charged for inciting the insurrection.
