Former Coronation Street star Craig Gazey was unrecognisable as he appeared on TV again this week - 12 years after his soap stint. Craig, 41, debuted on the popular soap in 2008 as Graeme Proctor, David Platt's former cellmate in prison. And having been seen on TV sparingly in the past few years, fans were shocked as they saw the actor in another ITV drama called The Bay.Throughout his time on the popular soap, he made his mark in Weatherfield after stealing David's girlfriend Tina McIntyre, who was played by Michelle Keegan, leaving the former friends falling out.
Having initially signed up for a short term contract in 2008, Gazey returned in November 2008 as a series regular. Throughout his time on the show, Graeme, David and Tina all appeared on a special episode of The Jeremy Kyle Show, where they discussed their love triangle. Craig left the soap in 2011, when his character moves to London to be with Tina's friend Xin Chiang, whom Tina convinces Graeme to marry as her visa has expired.
However, when Xin later planned on leaving the village, Graeme realises his feelings for her as he can't live without her, and the new couple escape to London together. Since leaving the soap, the actor has been seen in several theatre productions across the country, including the play Third Floor on the West End in 2011 and in the UK tour of the comedy, Funny Peculiar alongside Suzanne Shaw and former Coronation Street co-star Vicky Entwistle. Fans will be happy to know that Craig have made a return to his soap roots, as he's a regular on the fourth season of The Bay.
