Filming on “The Penguin,” HBO Max‘s first series spinoff of Matt Reeves‘ “The Batman” got underway in New York City last month, with set footage of star Colin Farrell back in full Oz makeup on the street making the rounds online. Reprising his role as Oswald Cobblepot, or the titular Penguin, Colin, 46, donned a number of prosthetics on his face just as he did in in the 2022 film starring Robert Pattinson.The prosthetics gave the actor the appearance of facial scars and a receding hairline, and made him look heavier than his usual slim figure. Dressed for the role, Colin sported a purple blazer and white shirt, which were paired with black trousers and matching suspenders.The look was completed with a pair of black shoes and a brown leather coat.

HBO Max series “The Penguin.”The Irishman — a Best Actor nominee at the 2023 Oscars for “The Banshees of Inishiren” — is reprising his role as DC Comics supervillain Penguin, a part he first played in last year’s blockbuster movie, “The Batman.”Penguin, a Gotham City mobster also known as Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, is one of Batman’s most enduring enemies, famed for his heavyset frame and receding hairline.In order to transform into the bulging baddie, Farrell wore facial prosthetics that gave him multiple chins and pockmarked skin. The star’s signature bushy eyebrows and thick dark locks were also obscured by the work of Hollywood cosmetics.
