Chris Pine's publicist thought it just wasn't their day, or week or month (or year) when they landed in Italy to attend the Venice Film Festival last summer. The 42-year-old actor felt like he pulled out all the stops for his debut at the star-studded premiere of "Don't Worry Darling" in September, only to be told he looked like Jennifer Aniston's beloved Rachel Green character from "Friends." "Why did Chris Pine cut his hair? Esquire magazine asked Pine in a TikTok clip.
"I thought I was looking pretty fly," Pine admitted while showing off a fresh cut. "The hair was long, everything was happening, and my publicist said that I look like Rachel from ‘Friends.’" Throughout the week, Pine had a host of engagements for the film directed by Olivia Wilde.

While "Don't Worry Darling" was marred in controversy before it even reached the silver screen, Pine addressed another fuss from the festival that week: the infamous Harry Styles spitting speculation. It appeared as though Styles, his co-star, casually hissed at Pine as he sat down in his seat while the crowded room applauded his entrance at the Venice Film Festival, which seemed even more evident due to Pine's slow-clap reaction and gaze into his lap.
Pine then appeared to shake his head as though there was an issue, but clarified that any idea of a mishap was just that. "She wakes me up, you know, in a state, and she said, ‘We have to craft a message about what happened in Venice,’ and I was like,

With Hollywood now turning to franchises like “The Last of Us” and “Borderlands” in the search for new audiences, it might be safe to say that video games are no longer the untapped frontier of adaptations. And that might mean it is the tabletop industry’s time to shine.
I have friends who’ve played table-top, role playing, and fantasy game Dungeons and Dragons (DnD), but I haven’t played ever. My friends tell me I’m missing out by not playing, but none of them will explain and teach me how to play, but what I’ve learned is that players can create their own characters and adventures. Whether Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves keeps true to the spirit of the game, I can’t say. However, as a film, John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein’s execution pays off in a major way. Written by Daley, Goldstein, and Michael Gilio, the movie has an all-star cast including Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Daisy Head.

As last minute preparations and rehearsals were busily taking place at the Dolby Theatre for this Sunday’s 95th Annual Academy Awards, I was able to carve out some time with AMPAS CEO Bill Kramer on Wednesday to talk about the show, handling potential crisis situations, continuing controversies about Oscar campaigning and social media, plus the future of the broadcast with ABC and the Dolby Theatre venue where it has taken place for several years. He was in a very upbeat mood about what he was seeing so far in his first year as CEO so involved with the Oscar show with new President Janet Yang on behalf of the Academy and what they hope will be somewhat of a return to Oscar’s former glory after a rough couple of years where the broadcast was deeply affected by the pandemic and then the now-infamous Will Smith/Chris Rock slap which we also talk about including Kramer’s reaction to Rock’s Netflix comedy special last Saturday and its timing just a week before this year’s show.
Throughout the last decade-plus, movie audiences have tasted all sorts of different adaptations: video games, book-to-film, comic books, and the like. But a more uncommon adaption formula is the board game movie.

So, what’s the latest on “Star Trek 4“? J.J. Abrams certainly sounds bullish on the film’s future.
Star Trek film series as being “cursed”, while explaining his frustrations with the next planned instalment. The actor has played Captain Kirk since the 2009 reboot directed by J.J Abrams, which was followed by two sequels Star Trek Into Darkness and 2016’s Star Trek Beyond. In February last year, Paramount announced a fourth instalment in the reboot series was officially in development. At the time, Matt Shakman (WandaVision) was attached to direct, but he’s since departed the project to helm Marvel’s Fantastic Four.Speaking in an interview with Esquire, Abrams, who is a producer on the fourth outing, provided an update on the film’s progress. “I will say it’s the first time [since the original reboot] that we have a story that feels as compelling as the first one,” Abrams said.In the same interview, Pine shared that this was news to him: “I don’t know anything.
Fans were shocked as Harry Styles was seemingly caught on camera spitting on movie co-star Chris Pine at last year's Venice Film Festival. Back in September last year, as the actors were doing press work for their film Don't Worry Darling, Harry, 28, caused a social media storm after fans speculated he spat in his fellow actor's lap. The pair were sitting alongside Harry's now ex-girlfriend and the film's director, Olivia Wilde, 38.

Harry is a very, very kind guy.”Pine followed up the statement by saying that he was on a flight when he was awoken by his publicist, who was scrambling to craft a message about the rumours of the incident that had flooded social media.“It does look, indeed, like Harry spitting on me.
Zack Sharf Digital News Director What’s going on with Paramount’s “Star Trek” film franchise? Don’t ask Chris Pine, even though he’s one of its headlining stars. Pine has played Captain Kirk in three “Star Trek” movies, and he is painfully out of the loop when it comes to the long-delayed and long-overhauled fourth movie. Directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Noah Hawley developed “Star Trek 4” scripts that never got off the ground. “WandaVision” director Matt Shakman was the most recent filmmaker attached to “Star Trek 4,” but he left the project to shoot Marvel’s “Fantastic Four” reboot instead. Paramount announced last September it was removing “Star Trek 4” from its release calendar. As part of Chris Pine’s new Esquire cover story, franchise producer J.J. Abrams said the “Star Trek 4″ script is in a good place. “I will say it’s the first time [since the original reboot] that we have a story that feels as compelling as the first one,” he added. But even still, Pine is out of the loop.
