“Recently, I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological condition called Stiff Person Syndrome, which affects something like one in a million people. While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know that this is what has been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been having,” Celine said in a video to fans in December 2022.
“Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to,” she continued.
Just last week, Celine announced she was postponing the remaining dates on her tour. She told fans, “I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%.”
Now, a source is speaking out and explaining a little more about what is going on behind-the-scenes that lead to this decision.
A source told People, “The goal is for her to tour again for sure, but once she is better,” the source said. “Right now she’s focusing on her health. She couldn’t keep postponing shows — it wasn’t fair to the fans.”
We’re wishing Celine well as she continues her recovery!
