Outlander has revealed some major casting shake ups ahead of the new season, and Caitriona Balfe has started the welcome wagon for the actors.
Caitriona, 42, has played Claire Fraser on the hit Starz fantasy show since 2014 alongside Sam Heughan, 42, who plays Jamie Fraser. After the news broke, we reported that the show was set to bring back Graham McTavish, Nell Hudson, Layla Burns, Lotte Verbeek and Steven Cree for season 7.
Several new actors will be joining the cast too, including Gloria Obianyo as Mercy Woodcock, Rod Hallett as Benedict Arnold and Chris Fulton as Rob Cameron.
Following the exciting news, Caitriona took to social media to welcome the actors. Sharing a photo of the new cast, she wrote: "Welcome aboard everyone. All here to make this bumper season one of the best yet. Xxx"
Sam also joined Caitriona in welcoming the new castmates, penning a cheeky post on Twitter. The Dumfries born actor wrote: "Uh oh I see trouble... in many forms. Welcome all!"
Fans of the show delighted at the new casting announcement and shared their excitement. One wrote: "OMG! Graham McRavish, Steven McCree, Lott Verbeek, Nell Hudson? I am so excited!"
"Oh, how exciting to see some old faces that really made an impact back for Season 7! Have no idea what lies ahead but I cannot wait to immerse myself in this story again," wrote another.
