Dream Wife have released their new single ‘Orbit’ from their forthcoming third album ‘Social Lubrication’ – as well as announcing details of a UK and US tour.‘Orbit’, produced by Dream Wife guitarist Alice Go and mixed by Alan Moulder, is a defiant song which they say was “written through the joy of jamming together and locking into the groove like a multi-limbed space-age organism.”They continued: “‘Orbit’ has a dance rock edge from the early ’00s of bands like New Young Pony Club and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Lyrically, it was inspired by post-lockdown London coming back to life and sharing a space through friendship, community and how each day you never know what’s in store for you or how a stranger can become someone close to you – for a day, a heartbeat, a phase, or a lifetime.” The new single follows their previous releases ‘Hot (Don’t Date A Musician)’ and ‘Leech’, all from the trio’s upcoming third album ‘Social Lubrication’ which is set for release on June 9 via Lucky Number.‘Social Lubrication’ is an entirely self-written and self-produced album by the trio.

Seven-time Grammy winner Alanis Morissette has released the new single, “No Return” (Extended Version), a reworked version of Yellowjackets’ main title theme song.  Morissette’s new take on the theme, written by Yellowjackets composers Craig Wedren and Anna Waronker, debuted in the fourth episode of the series’ second season. The new version of the song is a one-off for Episode 4, and the original theme song will return for its fifth, look for Morissette’s song to pop up at other points in this season. “No Return,” the haunting and psychedelic opening theme of “Yellowjackets,” was originally composed by Craig Wedren and Anna Waronker, who write the music for the show.

(But not just on vinyl.) The music from “Shadow Kingdom” will be released in album form in June. The album version shall be released June 6 on streaming platforms and as a CD and double-LP. The film itself, out of circulation since that initial one-week pay-per-view window, will become available for rental and download for the first time in June, as well.

Bob Dylan has debuted a live cover of The Grateful Dead‘s 1970 hit ‘Truckin” while on tour in Japan.Dylan, who is currently on the ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’ tour in Japan, pulled out the surprise cover at the Tokyo Garden Theater on Wednesday (April 12). Metallica have responded to the recent revelation that Bob Dylan has seen the band perform live twice.Last December, the legendary singer-songwriter recalled in a rare interview with the Wall Street Journal that he has attended two Metallica concerts previously, as well as gigs by Oasis and Klaxons.Speaking to NME this week, drummer Lars Ulrich said: “I saw that.”He continued: “I don’t know if Bob reads the NME or not, but I have one thing to say to him: ‘Bob, you’re welcome at any Metallica show anywhere in the world at any time – but please come backstage and say hello. We’d love to meet you and pay our respects!'”The same WSJ interview saw Dylan reveal that he’d “made special efforts” to see Jack White and Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner.
