BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent has reportedly split from her husband Gavin Hawthorn of 13 years after they “tried to tough it out”. Sally, 52 and husband Gavin, 52, who share a son together, have reportedly decided to “amicably” end their marriage.
Although presenter Sally has always kept details of her life relatively private, a source close to the couple told the Daily Mail that they had been "moving in different directions". Keeping her personal life private, Sally had never even confirmed her husband's name, as her BBC Breakfast profile page simply stated: "Sally is married with one child – a football and rugby mad boy." The source revealed: “It's very sad but they are no longer together.
"I think they tried to tough it out for quite a while as they didn't want to split up if they could possibly help it for the sake of their son but they clearly couldn't make a go of it.” They continued: "They've both been very guarded about the reasons behind their growing apart but it's been plain for a while that they had been and now it's obvious that they haven't been able to resolve that despite clearly trying for some time." The BBC Breakfast presenter has given very small glimpses into her family life previously by revealing in an interview that it can be difficult to find something for the full family to watch on their flat-screen TV.
In an interview with Radio Times, she said: "My sofa is in my kitchen diner and there’s a giant flat-screen TV on the wall.
