EXCLUSIVE: Two-time Primetime Emmy nominee Rhea Seehorn has boarded the fourth installment of the $841M grossing Bad Boys franchise.
That pic, directed by Bad Boys for Life‘s Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing from a script by Chris Bremner, the storyline of which is under wraps. Cameras are rolling in Atlanta, GA for the Sony production.
Seehorn joins a cast that includes Paola Núnez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ioan Gruffudd and Alexander Ludwig.
Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith for Westbrook, and Doug Belgrad are back producing; with Lawrence, James Lassiter, Chad Oman, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman and Jon Mone serving as EPs.
Seehorn starred on 61 episodes of Better Call Saul as attorney Kim Wexler and girlfriend of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman, a role which earned a Primetime Emmy Supporting Actress Drama nomination last year. She also received a Primetime Emmy nod in 2022 in Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for Cooper’s Bar. Other TV credits include Whitney and Veep and the movie Linoleum with Jim Gaffigan.

John Hopewell Chief International Correspondent Lionel Messi and Sony Music Entertainment will team with the Canary Islands’ Atlantis Animation to bring an animated series on the Argentine soccer megastar several steps closer to reality. The deal sees Atlantis producing as a service company a CG animated series trailer inspired by Messi himself. Sony Music’s Premium Content Division, which is producing in partnership with Leo Messi Management, is overseeing the development and distribution of the series. Based out of Tenerife, Atlantis Animation is now in full production of the trailer. Targeting all audiences, the series “will immerse viewers in the epic adventures of a young Messi overcoming titanic challenges as he navigates the vibrant world of video games,” a written statement said.

John Hopewell Chief International Correspondent Álvaro Morte, immortalized by his performance as the Professor in “Money Heist,” has inked a multi-year producing deal with Sony Pictures Television through his Madrid-based production company 300 Pistolas, which he founded alongside Blanca Clemente. The accord sees 300 Pistolas, a theater company, making the transition into producing scripted TV, with Morte developing English-language scripted series exclusively with SPT, which he and Clemente will serve on as producers via 300 Pistolas. Morte and Clemente will have access to SPT’s development teams. SPT will serve as exclusive production and distribution partner to any projects produced under the deal, SPT confirmed Wednesday.

The series will have its world premiere on Peacock in the U.S. on June 27. “The Winter King,” the King Arthur tale based on the novels by Bernard Cornwell, produced by SPT-backed Bad Wolf, and co-commissioned by ITVX for the U.K. and MGM+ in the U.S., has been acquired for the Middle East by BeIN, in India (SonyLIV) and in Australia (Stan). During her acceptance speech Horgan thanked “all our writers” because it all begins and ends with the writers, so we’re in solidarity to our WGA brothers and sisters.” Later, speaking at the winners press conference backstage, Horgan confirmed that all her U.S. projects are on hold at the moment. “All of my U.S. projects are just like in a pile now,” Horgan said.
