‘Avatar 2’ Rises To No. 5 On All-Time Global Chart; Will It Overtake ‘Titanic’ Next?

K.J. Yossman “Avatar 2: The Way of Water” star Jamie Flatters looks unrecognizable in stills from his upcoming indie feature “Black Dog,” revealed here exclusively by Variety. Shedding his blue CG ensemble, Flatters, who plays Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington’s eldest Na’avi son in James Cameron’s billion-dollar smash, reverts to type in “Black Dog” as a London teenager taking a road trip up North. Flatters co-wrote the British indie feature with his friend George Jaques (“The Serpent Queen”), who will also direct. “Black Dog” represents both Flatters and Jaques’ feature screenwriting debut.

Playboi Carti faces two charges including felony aggravated assault stemming from a December incident where the rapper (whose legal name is Jordan Terrell Carter) allegedly choked his pregnant girlfriend, according to a TMZ report published today (February 14). When the last Little Egg of the season disappears under mysterious circumstances, Oona and her new friends race against time to bring the Little Egg home before a big storm hits Puffin Rock and puts the entire island in danger.

Super Bowl LVII gave us a lot of highlights, including a new Rihanna performance, but it’s safe to say the game was overlooked by all the media around it; Rihanna, the commercials, and of course, all the big movie trailers. Released late in the evening was the new Big Game Spot for “Creed III,” the third in the “Creed” boxing franchise spun-off from the “Rocky” franchise that finally goes it alone without Sylvester Stallone.

Right up in its wake, Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water has now reached $2,213.5M, still the fourth biggest movie ever and less than $4M from Titanic through Sunday. It will overtake Titanic, it’s just a matter of when.
