Prime Video’s new series “The Power” posits a world in which young women around the globe, in an inexplicable twist of nature, suddenly develop the ability to electrocute people at will — flipping society, and the patriarchy, on its head (“A world built for us, where we’re not afraid” says a protagonist). The eight-part series, cloaked in sci-fi, takes a while to charge into high gear, but once it gets going is rife with social commentary that resonates in today’s culture.“The Power” is based on Naomi Alderman’s eponymous 2016 novel and features an ensemble cast of younger, nuanced actors working alongside A-listers Toni Collette, John Leguizamo and Josh Charles.

Saturday Night Takeaway fans were left “crying” with laugher on the latest instalment of the ITV show, as hosts Ant and Dec amped up the mischief to prank their showbiz pal Rylan. Ahead of this year’s Eurovision song contest, which Rylan has been confirmed to be presenting, the Geordie duo set up a fake video shoot ahead of the ceremony, where they asked Rylan to pronounce phrases in foreign languages and pose for what he thought was a legitimate video with a green screen.

Ant and Dec were left in hysterics on this week’s episode of Saturday Night Takeaway, just minutes into the show, when one of the usual segments hilariously had to be cut short by a guest’s blunder. During the weekly Ring My Bell segment, where viewers are asked to identify their homes from video doorbell views, it soon ended in "chaos".  When a member of the audience identifies their home, they need to stand up and shout “Ding Dong, That’s My Doorbell” to be eligible to win a prize.

The 36 year old queen of the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here jungle was starring on Saturday’s show as this week’s guest announcer, which saw the Sunderland native come face to face with hosts Ant and Dec from nearby Newcastle.
