Manchester United ambassador Andy Cole believes the club's players can showcase their skills in this summer's pre-season friendly against Wrexham.
The Welsh club will face Erik ten Hag's team in San Diego on July 26 as United come to the end of their tour of the United States. Football director John Murtough has already confirmed that the exhibition match will feature several academy players, with the Premier League season starting just over a fortnight later.
Cole attended an event at Snapdragon Stadium announcing the friendly alongside Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney. The two were also joined by San Diego Loyal co-founder Landon Donovan.

"I think it'll be unbelievable," Cole said, via TJ Sports. "It's Manchester United's first time in San Diego, that's massive.
"Football's growing here. Many years ago, when I was playing, going to America on tour was a no-no because it wasn't well known, but now it's all changed. Manchester United players now have the opportunity to come out here, enjoy it and showcase their skills."
McElhenney outlined Wrexham's hopes of playing United in the top flight within the next decade. "Our ultimate goal is to get to the Premier League, which a lot of people laughed at in the beginning, but I don't think they're laughing as much now," he said. "The truth is that the system is in place for that very thing to happen, so why not us and why not now?
"We would hope that at some point we would be playing Manchester United in the Premier League. We didn't realise it would be in three years, and obviously, this is a friendly, but we hope that maybe in eight to 10 years, we'll be playing you guys in competition."
