Prison Drama ‘Time’ Sets Season 2 With New Cast Including Bella Ramsey, Jodie Whittaker

K.J. Yossman Jimmy McGovern’s British prison drama “Time” is returning for a second season featuring a new cast. “The Last of Us” star Bella Ramsey, “Doctor Who’s” Jodie Whittaker and “The Silent Twins” star Tamara Lawrance are all joining the show. The original show featured Sean Bean and Stephen Graham as a prisoner and prison officer respectively. It averaged 11.6 million viewers across a three-part run and won a 2022 BAFTA Television award for best mini-series. The new season, which is comprised of three parts, will be set in a women’s prison. Siobhan Finneran (“Happy Valley”), who also featured in Season 1, reprises her role as prison chaplain Marie-Louise.

BreAnna Bell Apple TV+ has renewed “The Big Door Prize” for a second season, the streamer announced on Wednesday. According to the official description, “The Big Door Prize” follows the story of a small town that changes after a mysterious machine appears in the local general store, promising to reveal each resident’s true life potential. Christopher O’Dowd stars as Dusty Hubbard, a seemingly content, cheerful family man and high school teacher, watches everyone around him reevaluate their life choices and ambitions based on the machine’s printouts which leaves him questioning his own happiness. Though he remains skeptical of the machine, his wife Cass (Gabrielle Dennis) starts to dive into the idea that she could have something bigger in store for her. Up until the arrival of the Morpho machine, the couple lived a seemingly easy and safe life. But all of that changes when the community is forced to take stock of their unfulfilled achievements in pursuit of a better future. The series is based on M.O. Walsh’s novel of the same name.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter “The Night Agent” has earned a speedy Season 2 renewal at Netflix, Variety has learned. The action thriller series debuted on the streaming service less than a week ago, on March 23. It proved to be popular immediately, rocketing up to the top of Netflix’s weekly Top 10 chart with 168.71 million hours viewed. The second season will consist of 10 episodes. “The last week has been a whirlwind as we’ve finally been able to share ‘The Night Agent’ with the world,” said series creator Shawn Ryan. “To see the tremendous reaction to the show has been a great joy and is a credit to our cast, our writers, our directors, our crew and our partners at Sony Pictures Television and Netflix. Joe Otterson TV Reporter “Grey’s Anatomy” has been renewed for Season 20 at ABC. With the renewal, the series continues its run as the longest running primetime medical drama in TV history. In addition, series executive producer Meg Marinis will serve as showrunner on Season 20. Marinis takes over from Krista Vernoff, who was reported to be stepping down from “Grey’s Anatomy” and its spinoff “Station 19” back in January. The Season 19 finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” will air on May 18. The show has seen a number of exits this season, most notably Vernoff and Kelly McCreary (who’s played Dr. Maggie Pierce for nine seasons) — and series lead Ellen Pompeo, kind of. Pompeo has been with the show since it debuted, but in the Feb. 23 episode, her character Meredith Grey moved from Seattle to Boston. She will continue to provide the voiceover at the beginning and end of each episodes, and she’ll also appear on the finale. Pompeo’s status for Season 20 is still up in the air.

In its Jan. 22 premiere, the show registered a 2.5 Live + 35 Day rating and 14.6 multi-platform viewers.
